hAIve Chi
Privacy Policy
Plain about what we keep, why, and how to have it removed.
Effective 11 September 2026
hAIve Chi is a daily collective experience: one question, one word from you, and a shared
reveal built from the whole crowd. This policy explains what personal information we handle and
the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who is responsible
hAIve Chi is operated by GeoffMedia LLC (“GeoffMedia,”
“we,” “us”), the party responsible for the information described here.
For anything in this policy — questions, access, or deletion — contact us at
contact@geoffmedia.com.
The short version
- There is no account and no password. You can take part without telling us
who you are.
- We keep your words and the dates you gave them (roughly the last two months),
tied to an anonymous id for your browser — not to your name.
- We collect an email address only if you type one in, and a
phone number only if you choose to add one, so we can send you the daily question.
- The system that makes each day’s reveal only ever sees totals, never
individuals.
- You can ask us to delete everything at any time.
What we collect
- Your one-word answers, with their dates — kept for about the last two
months so we can show you your own month back.
- An anonymous device id stored in your browser. It is a random identifier,
not a name, email, or profile.
- Coarse, automatic signals that arrive with any web request: your country and
region, a rough time of day, and your browser’s language. We count these; we do not build a
profile from them.
- An email address — only if you provide one after a reveal, to send the
next day’s question.
- A phone number — only if you choose to provide one, for the same purpose:
a way to reach you about the daily question (for example, a future text reminder). It is optional,
and leaving it blank changes nothing about taking part.
Any age or decade you may share in a question stays in your own browser and is not
sent to our servers.
How we use it
- To run the daily loop: record your submission, keep your streak, and build the shared reveal
from the crowd’s totals.
- To show you where your word landed and your personal monthly recap.
- To send the daily question, and — only if you ask for it — a note when the reveal
lands, to the email or phone you gave.
- To keep the service working and to understand overall usage in aggregate.
An email or phone here is somewhere to send something, not a way to log in.
There is no password attached and nothing to sign in to. One link in the first email confirms the
address is really yours.
The crowd never sees you
The models that write each day’s reveal are shown totals only — how
many people said each word — never a list of people and never a word tied to a person. When we
describe a slice of the crowd (a region, a time of day), we only do so when the slice is large enough
that no single person can be picked out of it; smaller slices are dropped rather than shown.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers to run hAIve Chi, under their own security and privacy
terms and only to provide the service:
- Cloudflare — hosting, application logic, image storage, and email delivery.
- Supabase — the database that stores submissions and contact details.
- Privacy-respecting analytics and error monitoring — to keep the site
healthy, using aggregate and technical data.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Your words: about the most recent two months on the device record; the day’s
totals (never individuals) remain in the public archive.
- Email or phone: until you ask us to remove it, or you unsubscribe.
- Clearing your browser data removes the anonymous id and history from that browser. If that
happens and you mind, get in touch — it can usually be put back.
Your choices and rights
- Take part anonymously — giving an email or phone is always optional.
- Access or delete what we hold, including your contact details and your words.
- Unsubscribe from any message using its link, or by writing to us.
To exercise any of these, email contact@geoffmedia.com
and we will take care of it.
Children
hAIve Chi is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from
children. If you believe a child has provided us contact information, write to
contact@geoffmedia.com and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it on the
site. Continuing to use hAIve Chi after a change means the updated policy applies.
